Race 1 goes first (Tier 3, spots 9-12), then Race 2 (Tier 2, spots 5-8), then the nightcap (Tier 1, spots 1-4). Win your race and you choose your draft spot before everyone below you. Each seed drafts 4 / 3 / 2 / 1 horses in rounds. The last run of each race is official.
